FROM THE ATLANTIC TO THE PACIFIC

Welcome to Costa Rica! Our local representative will meet you at the Juan Santamaría International Airport and transfer you to the hotel in San José.  1 night Lodging.  

DAY 2 SAN JOSÉ -TORTUGUERO (B, L, D)

Check Out early in the morning. Departure from San José to Tortuguero National Park located in the north Caribbean coast (transfer by land and boat in shared service). Stop for breakfast in route in the city of Guápiles and continue on the bus route to take the boat that will take you to your hotel in Tortuguero. The trip by boat is a naturalistic tour where you can appreciate the flora and fauna of the rainforest and the incredible view of the canals and lagoons. Arrive to the lodge around noon just in time for lunch. Afterwards, you can enjoy a walk through the town of Tortuguero, visiting the Turtle Museum (donation $ 1). Free afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.  2 nights lodging.  

DAY 3 TORTUGUERO (B, L, D)

Before breakfast, you can take a boat tour through the Tortuguero canals to admire the flora and fauna. Later, return to the hotel for breakfast. Rest of the day free for some additional activity.

DAY 4 TORTUGUERO – PUERTO VIEJO (B, L) 

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. At the agreed time, you will take the boat and land transfer back to Guapiles where you will have lunch. 2 nights Lodging. 

Option A Shared transfer: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the restaurant in Guapiles after lunch to continue to Puerto Viejo located in the South Caribbean.

Option B Car Rental: At the agreed time, a representative of the car rental company will meet you at the restaurant in Guapiles and deliver the contract and the rental car after lunch. Drive to Puerto Viejo in the South Caribbean zone; take in consideration that the road trip will take about 3 hours and it is convenient to arrive at the destination before nightfall.

DAY 5 PUERTO VIEJO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. 

Optional Excursion: This day you will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour through the Cahuita National Park, home to one of the most important coral reefs in Costa Rica; you can walk along its paths and your naturalist guide will help you to understand the behavior of the abundant flora and fauna. Rest of the afternoon free. Tour available with or without transfers included (passengers can get directly to the starting point of the tour on their own).

DAY 6 PUERTO VIEJO – ARENAL  (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. 

Option A Shared transfer: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to La Fortuna of San Carlos, home of the majestic Arenal Volcano.  2 nights Lodging

Option B Car Rental: Drive to the Fortuna area of San Carlos; take in consideration that the road trip can take around 5 hours and it is convenient to arrive before nightfall.

DAY 7 ARENAL (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the hotel facilities and explore the area.

DAY 8  ARENAL – TAMARINDO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. 2 nights Lodging.

Option A Shared transfer: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to Tamarindo beach, Guanacaste, located on the north Pacific coast.

Option B Car Rental: Drive to Tamarindo beach, Guanacaste, on the north Pacific coast; take in consideration that the road trip will take about 4 hours and it is convenient to arrive at the destination before nightfall.

DAY 9 TAMARINDO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.  Free day to enjoy the beach. 

DAY 10 TAMARINDO – SAN JOSÉ (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. 1 night lodging

Option A Shared transfers: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to the city of San José.

Option B Car Rental: Drive to the city of San José; take in consideration that the road trip can take around 3 hours. At the time agreed with the rental company, return the car in the hotel lobby in San José.

DAY 11 SAN JOSE – AIRPORT (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. At the agreed time, our representative will pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to the Juan Santamaria International Airport to take your flight back home.

RECOMMENDATIONS 

• Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for traveling in Costa Rica. 
• Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or sparse clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. 
• Sun protection, sunglasses, hat or cap, swimsuit, comfortable walking shoes, sandals and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
