Itinerary

DAY 1: BOGOTA 

Reception and transfer from International Airport El Dorado to the hotel of your choice. Overnight.


DAY 2: BOGOTA (City Tour with Monserrate)

Breakfast. A staff member will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour around the historic center of the city. The first stop will be at Plaza de Bolivar to walk along the streets to see the most important buildings of the city, such as the National Capitol, which is the center of the country’s legislative life; Casa de los Comuneros; Casa de Nariño, which is the Presidential house; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures and a visit to the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar, the house belonged to Simon Bolivar. The tour continues to the iconic symbol of Bogota, the Monserrate Hill rising to 3,152 above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota. Afternoon at leisure and overnight.

Notes:

  • Gold Museum and Quinta de Bolivar are closed on Mondays; instead, we will visit “the Botero Museum or Casa de la Moneda Museum”.
  • Duration: Approximately of this tour 05 hours.

DAY 3: BOGOTA – SAN ANDRÉS

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport as scheduled, to take a flight to San Andrés. Reception and transfer from Airport to the hotel of your choice in public Taxis of the island. Overnight.

 

Notes:

  • To enter the island, it is necessary to buy the Tourism card, approximately USD 35 per person, the payment must be done in Colombian pesos.
  • In accordance with the government regulation of the Island, all transfers from to airport to the hotels and vice versa must be done with public taxis.

DAY 4: SAN ANDRES (Tour Around the island)

Breakfast. On this tour you can appreciate the colors of the sea: blues, greens, lilacs, vegetation, and a beautiful blue sky. The visit will begin at the indicated meeting point, from there, we will go to Morgan’s Cave, where there will be a stop of approximately 20 minutes, time for if you wish, you can purchase the entrance to the Cave and learn about the legend of the English buccaneer Henry Morgan who, according to the story, hid some of the treasures that he stole from the Spanish galleons in this place. The tour will continue to the Hoyo Soplador, located on the southern tip of the Island, ending the tour we will pass through the beautiful beaches of San Luis, this place has a spectacular contrast between the colorful houses that preserve the Antillean architecture, the green of the vegetation, the white of the sand, and the infinite and deep blue of the sea. On the tour it is possible to visit the first Emmanuel Baptist Church, it is the oldest on the island, this iconic Church is made entirely of pine wood and built-in parts in Alabama, United States and then assembled in the highest part of the island, known as La Loma, from its viewpoint you have a panoramic view of the entire island.  Tour around the island It is a panoramic tour, it does not include tickets to the places of interest.  Return to your hotel. DAY 5: SAN ANDRES (Johnny Cay, Haynes Cay, and Mangroves Excursion)

Breakfast. Passengers must arrive at 08:30 hours at the Casa de la Cultura Pier where they acquire their entrance ticket to Johnny Cay, there they will take the boat to the Islet of Johnny Cay to enjoy the beach and the contrast of the seven colors of our sea. We continue to the islet of the aquarium for a visit and sighting of manta rays, we end with a tour of the OLD POINT mangroves.

It operates every day.  Does not include Kay entrance, lunch, and transfers hotel / pier / hotel

DAY 6: SAN ANDRÉS – CARTAGENA

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport as scheduled, to take a flight to Cartagena. Reception and transfer from International Airport Rafael Nuñez to the hotel of your choice. Overnight.

DAY 7: CARTAGENA (City Tour)

Breakfast. At the agreed time, meet one of our representatives at the hotel where you are staying to begin a panoramic tour of Cartagena de Indias. During the circuit, you will pass through the modern area of Bocagrande and the Manga neighborhood, where you can see old houses from the beginning of the 20th century. Then you will visit the Castle of San Felipe de Barajas, with which the Spanish sought to defend themselves from English attacks in the seventeenth century. We continue with a short walk through the historic center of this beautiful city, the tour ends by visiting the emerald museum. The tour will end at your hotel.

Includes: Entrance to the Castillo San Felipe and the Esmeralda Museum.

Duration: approximately 3 hours and a half.

DAY 8: CARTAGENA (Beach Tour)

Breakfast and transfer to start a full day tour to the Rosario´s Islands National Park. There you´ll enjoy coral beaches and variety of fauna of the reef, ideal for relaxing and swimming. Return to Cartagena and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 1 – QUITO

DAY 2 – QUITO

Breakfast. Excursion full day to choose: Cotopaxi & Quilotoa Full Day Tour or Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cotacachi & Cuicocha Tour, based on operating days.

Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cotacachi & Cuicocha Tour (Tuesday & Saturday):

Departure from our designated hotels in Quito through the Pan-American North Highway until arriving to Cayambe, where the passengers will have the opportunity to taste the delicious “Bizcochos de Cayambe”, a type of cracker or bread baked in a clay oven (greatly paired with local cheese or caramel sauce).  After admiring Lake San Pablo, we will arrive at the Otavalo Market, the largest in America, where the indigenous people of the area, known as “Otavalos”, one of Ecuador’s most recognized ethnic groups, make and sell their textiles and handicrafts.

Passengers may choose between to stay in this area and enjoy more time from the market and our bus will pick them up at the end of the tour (they will not have the visit to Cotacachi and Cuicocha) or continue with the journey to the town of Cotacachi, recognized for leather clothing and crafts. On the way to Cotacachi, we will visit an Andean instrument workshop “Ñanda Mañachi” located in Peguche, to spend some special moments with the local people and understand the Andean culture.

In Cotacachi you have enough time to visit the village, the shops of leather goods and free time for lunch, (not included).

Later we will visit the Ecological Reserve where the Cuicocha lagoon is located, inside the crater of the Cotacachi Volcano, which originated after a volcanic explosion thousands of years ago. And if the weather permits it will be possible to make a walk by the lagoon, sailing in the crater of the volcano in small boats (with additional cost).

** Bus will wait for 10 minutes in Otavalo to pick up passengers that stayed there, and after that will return to Quito and their respective hotels or starting point.

Cotopaxi & Quilotoa Full Day Tour (Thursday):

Departure by bus from Departure early in the morning from our designated hotels, through the Panamerican Highway admiring the diverse ecosystems of the route, as a clear sign of the majesty of the Andes.  We continue to the Cotopaxi National Park, arriving at the foot of the impressive active volcano.

Visit the Museum Park, the Limpiopungo Lagoon and through an interesting hike will reach the forest of chuquirahuas to 4200 meters. (If the weather permits).

We reach the Quilotoa Volcano, which has in its crater a stunning turquoise lagoon, making it one of the most beautiful and photographed landscapes of Ecuador.   We take a short hike to appreciate the magnificent view of the volcano (if weather conditions allow).  Free time for lunch (not included). Return to Quito in the afternoon

DAY 3 – QUITO

Breakfast. The Original Quito City Tour in Trolley + Authentic Middle of the World Tour

We will visit the historic center, the largest and best preserved in South America, in one of our original trolleys, which are a replica of the trams that circulated in Quito in the last century.

Visit to the Basilica del Voto Nacional Church, where we will make a brief stop for an explanation of its facade, to later move towards the Panecillo viewpoint, an iconic place in the city, renowned for its beauty, and where is a giant statue of the “Winged Virgin”, where you can admire a beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito. Later we will continue to the Plaza de San Francisco, one of the representative places of the city and full of history, from where we will walk to the Plaza Grande, historical and political center of the city, surrounded by innumerable attractions including: the Cathedral, the Palace of Government, the Archbishop’s Palace and the La Compañía church.

We continue our tour meeting the traditional La Ronda neighborhood, in whose romantic setting we can find workshops where our visitors will learn with a group of authentic artisans, how their works are elaborated, and trades of yesteryear that keep alive the cultural traditions of this charming city, in this emblematic street you will have the opportunity to visit an ice cream shop where you can find very traditional flavors of Ecuador, as well as a visit to one of the artisan workshops: Panamá hats or joinery or tinwork or products made from honey bee. (Entrance to churches are not included).

We will stop at the “Zona Rosa” of the city, approximately an hour and a half to have free time for lunch (not included), and later we continue with our excursion “Authentic Middle of the World Tour”.

We go to the “Middle of the World City”, where you can see the monument that divides the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere of the planet. It was built during the XVII century when a French Expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line that divides the world, and it is a must-see place for those who visit Quito. Includes entrance to the Middle of the World complex ,where you can live experiences that defy the laws of physics and occur only in this part of the world. After visiting this privileged place and registering it in your passport, you will always see Ecuador and the Middle of the World in a different way.

DAY 4 – QUITO / GALAPAGOS

Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer Hotel / Airport to catch Galapagos flight.

Welcome at the Baltra airport and transfer by public buses to the tip of the Itabaca canal, where you will proceed by a public ferry service in the Island of Santa Cruz. Transport will be waiting in order to transfer you to Puerto Ayora, area where the hotels are located on the Island. On the way, you will have the opportunity to visit the lava tunnels and a Turtle reserve. Visit to the Scientific Charles Darwin Station, where you can learn more about the Galápagos Islands; the species that live in this enchanted place, its origin, the theory of Evolution, the conservation programs, and observe some Giant Turtles in captivity. (Transfer operates daily at 13h00). Accommodation.

DAY 5 – PUERTO AYORA

DAY 6 – PUERTO AYORA

In the morning excursion to Tortuga Bay Beach, after 40minute walk (approx.) we will arrive to this magic place, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galapagos, with white sand and green mangroves. “Playa Mansa” is where we can swim and enjoy of the beach.  Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, tour around the bay on board a yacht, starting with a visit to “La Loberia”, named because of the presence of sea lions. Here you will be able to swim or snorkel. Then we proceed with our tour to the “Canal del Amor”, a marvelous site where nature gives us an unforgettable view; at the end of this channel, just a few meters forward, a viewpoint where we can observe reef sharks; from here we continue with a short walk to see the marine iguanas that inhabit in “Playa de los Perros”.  Punta Estrada will also be visited. Return to Puerto Ayora.

DAY 7 – PUERTO AYORA

Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up at your hotel to go to the canal of Itabaca, where a ferry will take you to Baltra Island. On the route from the hotel to the canal, you will have the opportunity to make a brief stop at the craters “Los Gemelos”, crater holes formed by the collapse of materials, surrounded by scalesia’s forests. Yacht excursión to León Dormido.   One of the 5 most spectacular sites in Galapagos to practice diving and snorkeling: A navigation along the coast of San Cristóbal with a wonderful landscape and sea birds. Arriving at Leon Dormido, you will dive (2 dives) or snorkel, your guide will direct you to enjoy this fantastic underwater world: fish, sea turtles, sea lions, hammerhead sharks and more!

You will have the opportunity to cross the channel of this rock monument, before disembarking in a beautiful beach, you will enjoy a box lunch on board, snorkeling, swimming in the bay or resting, they are activities that you can do on the beach.  Return to the hotel. Lodging.

DAY 1 – QUITO:

DAY 2 – QUITO

 Breakfast. The Original Quito City Tour in Trolley + Authentic Middle of the World Tour.  We will visit the historic center, the largest and best preserved in South America, in one of our original trolleys, which are a replica of the trams that circulated in Quito in the last century.  Visit to the Basilica del Voto Nacional Church, where we will make a brief stop for an explanation of its facade, to later move towards the Panecillo viewpoint, an iconic place in the city, renowned for its beauty, and where is a giant statue of the “Winged Virgin”, where you can admire a beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito. Later we will continue to the Plaza de San Francisco, one of the representative places of the city and full of history, from where we will walk to the Plaza Grande, historical and political center of the city, surrounded by innumerable attractions including: the Cathedral, the Palace of Government, the Archbishop’s Palace and the La Compañía church.

We continue our tour meeting the traditional La Ronda neighborhood, in whose romantic setting we can find workshops where our visitors will learn with a group of authentic artisans, how their works are elaborated, and trades of yesteryear that keep alive the cultural traditions of this charming city, in this emblematic street you will have the opportunity to visit an ice cream shop where you can find very traditional flavors of Ecuador, as well as a visit to one of the artisan workshops: Panamá hats or joinery or tinwork or products made from honey bee. (Entrance to churches are not included).

We will stop at the “Zona Rosa” of the city, approximately an hour and a half to have free time for lunch (not included), and later we continue with our excursion “Authentic Middle of the World Tour”.

We go to the “Middle of the World City”, where you can see the monument that divides the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere of the planet. It was built during the XVII century when a French Expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line that divides the world, and it is a must-see place for those who visit Quito. Includes entrance to the Middle of the World complex ,where you can live experiences that defy the laws of physics and occur only in this part of the world. After visiting this privileged place and registering it in your passport, you will always see Ecuador and the Middle of the World in a different way.

DAY 3 – QUITOOTAVALO INDIGENOUS MARKET, COTACACHI & CUICOCHA TOUR

Breakfast. Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cotacachi & Cuicocha Tour.  Departure from our designated hotels in Quito through the Pan-American North Highway until arriving to Cayambe, where the passengers will have the opportunity to taste the delicious “Bizcochos de Cayambe”, a type of cracker or bread baked in a clay oven (greatly paired with local cheese or caramel sauce).  After admiring Lake San Pablo, we will arrive at the Otavalo Market, the largest in America, where the indigenous people of the area, known as “Otavalos”, one of Ecuador’s most recognized ethnic groups, make and sell their textiles and handicrafts.

Passengers may choose between to stay in this area and enjoy more time from the market and our bus will pick them up at the end of the tour (they will not have the visit to Cotacachi and Cuicocha) or continue with the journey to the town of Cotacachi, recognized for leather clothing and crafts. On the way to Cotacachi, we will visit an Andean instrument workshop “Ñanda Mañachi” located in Peguche, to spend some special moments with the local people and understand the Andean culture.

In Cotacachi you have enough time to visit the village, the shops of leather goods and free time for lunch, (not included).  Later we will visit the Ecological Reserve where the Cuicocha lagoon is located, inside the crater of the Cotacachi Volcano, which originated after a volcanic explosion thousands of years ago. And if the weather permits it will be possible to make a walk by the lagoon, sailing in the crater of the volcano in small boats (with additional cost).

** Bus will wait for 10 minutes in Otavalo to pick up passengers that stayed there, and after that will return to Quito and their respective hotels or starting point.

DAY 4 – QUITO

Breakfast. Authentic Markets & Capilla del Hombre Tour + Quito’s Street Food & Art + Urban Legends of Quito at Night.

Route that starts in the center-north of the city in the commercial, banking and hotel area of Modern Quito.  We will move to one of the traditional markets of the city, where you can enjoy the colorful landscape produced by the stalls full of fruits and vegetables from all regions of our country.

Undoubtedly, this is a place full of familiar flavors, and the best opportunity to meet a variety of local consumer products that are mixed with the offer of very striking items such as herbs and healing, world-renowned roses, and liquors of national production, among others.

Later we will visit the Guayasamín House Museum also known as “Capilla del Hombre” (entrance included), of the most important plastic artist of Ecuador in the modern era and know the great value of the artistic heritage assets that this artist left the country.

At Afternoon Quito’s Street Food & Art

We will move to the traditional and historical Guapulo neighborhood, where we will walk through its picturesque cobblestone streets as the founders of the city of Quito did, and we will enjoy its incomparable viewpoint of the landscape of the valleys that surround the city and the church of Guapulo , old monastery of colonial construction.

We will continue to La Floresta, considered among the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city, nowadays the bohemian and artistic place of Quito, where we can admire the diversity of culture through its murals and graffitis, and will also have the opportunity to visit an orchidarium, dedicated to the production and conservation of a great variety of orchids and will have time for a small tasting of traditional street food.

We will visit some workshops of independent artisans, to know their informal exhibitions that give life to this neighborhood, also you will have the opportunity to visit a neighborhood store with a variety of treats that are consumed every day.

Finally, we will have the opportunity to know the neighborhood food, recognized by by the locals, as the gastronomy offered in the streets and that is a trend of local consumption and unique flavors. At the same time, we will learn the traditions that sourround the preparation of delicious dishes.

At night Urban Legends of Quito at Night

We begin in the northern part of the city with a tour along the most important commercial areas, where you can find most of Quito’s hotels and nightlife. Then we head to the historic center to admire the spectacle of the churches and historic buildings illuminated and its main tourist attractions. (Tickets not included).

The tour continues to the Mirador del Panecillo, recognized for its beauty, where you can delight with a beautiful view of colonial and modern Quito, you can enjoy a small tasting of traditional canelazo quiteño and empanada.  During the tour, you can get to know the people who live in this city better, you will be able to recognize them by their way of speaking, thinking, and to visit our city, as our guide will tell you about urban legends that are part of the history of Quito and that are a tradition and the cultural heritage of the people of Quito.

DAY 5 – QUITO – COTOPAXI & QUILOTOA FULL DAY TOUR

Breakfast. Cotopaxi & Quilotoa Full Day Tour

Departure early in the morning from our designated hotels, through the Panamerican Highway admiring the diverse ecosystems of the route, as a clear sign of the majesty of the Andes.  We continue to the Cotopaxi National Park, arriving at the foot of the impressive active volcano.  Visit the Museum Park, the Limpiopungo Lagoon and through an interesting hike will reach the forest of chuquirahuas to 4200 meters. (If the weather permits). We reach the Quilotoa Volcano, which has in its crater a stunning turquoise lagoon, making it one of the most beautiful and photographed landscapes of Ecuador.

We take a short hike to appreciate the magnificent view of the volcano (if weather conditions allow).

DAY 6 – QUITO / GALAPAGOS

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer Hotel / Airport for your flight to Galapagos.

Welcome at the Baltra airport and transfer by public buses to the tip of the Itabaca canal, where you will proceed by a public ferry service in the Island of Santa Cruz. Transport will be waiting in order to transfer you to Puerto Ayora, area where the hotels are located on the Island. On the way, you will have the opportunity to visit the lava tunnels and a Turtle reserve. Visit to the Scientific Charles Darwin Station, where you can learn more about the Galápagos Islands; the species that live in this enchanted place, its origin, the theory of Evolution, the conservation programs, and observe some Giant Turtles in captivity. (Transfer operates daily at 13h00). Accommodation.

DAY 7 – GALAPAGOS

Breakfast at hotel. Excursion in yacht to Santa Fe Island with vivencial fishing. Return to Puerto Ayora to accommodation.

DAY 8 – GALAPAGOS

 Breakfast at hotel. In the morning excursion to Tortuga Bay Beach, after 40minute walk (approx.) we will arrive to this magic place, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galapagos, with white sand and green mangroves. “Playa Mansa” is where we can swim and enjoy of the beach.  Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, tour around the bay on board a yacht, starting with a visit to “La Lobería”, named because of the presence of sea lions. Here you will be able to swim or snorkel. Then we proceed with our tour to the “Canal del Amor”, a marvelous site where nature gives us an unforgettable view; at the end of this channel, just a few meters forward, a viewpoint where we can observe reef sharks; from here we continue with a short walk to see the marine iguanas that inhabit in “Playa de los Perros”.  Punta Estrada will also be visited. Return to Puerto Ayora.

 DAY  9 – GALAPAGOS

Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to Cerro Mesa & Garrapatero.

We leave Puerto Ayora to the higher part of Santa Cruz Island, where we will take our bikes to get to Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve, to walk its paths admiring flora and fauna, plus the spectacular view of the island and its surroundings from the viewpoint.

Then continue to the The Garrapatero beach, where we will enjoy a picnic on the shore, and have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the beach, and the species that we can find in this place, such as Flamingos and  mallards in a  nearby lagoon. Rental kayaks (optional). At an arranged time, return to Puerto Ayora.

Note: You can modify the tour, and instead of cycling, it can be done in a vehicle.

DAY 10  – GALAPAGOS

Breakfast at hotel. We will pick you up at your hotel to go to the canal of Itabaca, where a ferry will take you to Baltra Island. At the port you will board a public bus that takes you to the airport. On the route from the hotel to the canal, you will have the opportunity to make a brief stop at the craters “Los Gemelos”, crater holes formed by the collapse of materials, surrounded by scalesia’s forests. We reach the Quilotoa Volcano, which has in its crater a stunning turquoise lagoon, making it one of the most beautiful and photographed landscapes of Ecuador.  We take a short hike to appreciate the magnificent view of the volcano (if weather conditions allow). Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon transfer to Riobamba and accommodation.

DAY  5 – RIOBAMBA / CUENCA

Breakfast. Transfer to the city of Alausi, passing through the towns of Colta, Guamote and Palmira, getting to know a little of the indigenous communities that live here. Stop for a typical lunch in Alausí (not included), and continue to Cuenca, with a visit to the Ingapirca Inca Ruins (entrance not included). Accommodation in Cuenca.

DAY 6 – CUENCA

Breakfast. City Tour Cuenca.  We will travel through the city visiting the Calderon Park, the New and the Old Cathedral, the Flower Market, Modern Arts Museum. We continue the tour to the Homero Ortega Panama Hat factory to observe the complete process of manufacturing. We will also observe the “broken bridge” and finally visit the tourist balcony of “Turi” where we can see a panoramic view of the whole city of Cuenca. Free afternoon

DAY 7 – CUENCA/ GUAYAQUIL

Breakfast. Transfer Cuenca / Guayaquil.  We leave from Cuenca to “Cajas National Park” known for its glacial lakes and high mountain vegetation. Here we will walk through this beautiful place to see some of the lakes and primary forest. We will also visit “3 Cruses” which forms the continental water division. We will walk to observe this curious place. From this point we will begin a dramatic decline to reach the coast of Ecuador. Starting we will begin observing the Andean Mountain scenery and then ending up seeing totally different vegetation of the Ecuadorian Coast with large plantations of bananas and cocoa beans. Arrival to Guayaquil.

DAY 8 – GUAYAQUIL

Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Lima, City of Kings, and the Larco Museum of Cultures

Arrival to the city of Lima, assistance, and transfer to the hotel.

An exclusive and intense tour of the Historical Center of Lima will take us to know and admire the architectonic relics that are part of the old Lima, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Convent of Santo Domingo is the beginning of this magnificent experience. It was built during the foundation of Lima. The Universidad Mayor de San Marcos (University of San Marcos) was founded on this site, the oldest in America. Inside, the choir with the oldest stalls in the country; and the library, with 25,000 books, some printed in the XV century, has an invaluable historical value. The mortal remains of San Martín de Porres, San Juan Masías and Santa Rosa de Lima lie inside. Crossing the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, and the Municipality, going into the Cathedral, a jewel in the history of Lima, with artworks that will make us feel closer to colonial Lima. Leaving downtown Lima and heading to the Larco Museum, where we will get a clear vision of the cultures that inhabited ancient Peru. We shall admire the gold pieces, textiles and erotic ceramics that are part of the collection which will introduce us to the cosmovision of the ancient Peru. The warehouse of this museum will be open during our visit to appreciate the expressions of art that were reflected in their ceramics.

Day 02: Ica and Mysteries of the Pampas de Nasca

Departure by bus going to the city of Ica. Arrival and lodging at the hotel Las Dunas.

At the specified time, transfer to the aerodrome to fly over the enigmatic Nasca lines, huge drawings that can only be appreciated from the air and represent a variety of insects and animals, such as the monkey, the hummingbird, the condor, or the spider, it is believed to be an astronomy calendar designed by the ancient local people of the desert. Return to Ica. Transfer to the hotel.

Near the hotel, is the location of one of Ica´s most visited places, the Huacachina oasis. This beautiful oasis is surrounded by vast sand dunes, which we will travel in a dune buggy locally known as arenero, enjoying an adventurous moment full of adrenaline.

Day 03: The Pisco Route

Ica is one of the pisco regions of Perú, in these lands grow different kinds of grapes that will be used to make the famous Peruvian clear brandy. As we go deeper into the farming fields to visit an artisan pisco cellar, where we learn the old-fashioned techniques used to obtain this liquor. The bodega “El Catador”, belongs to a family that has maintained its history and family tradition of artisanal pisco. We will observe the clay pots known as piscos, the alambiques (stills) and the oak press to obtain the grape juice. Then we will go to the bodega Tacama, the oldest vineyard of South America (since 1540) a pioneer in growing grapes to make pisco, they will show us the process of making the wines, sparkling wines and piscos. In the vineyard restaurant we will enjoy the regional cuisine of the warm Ica valley. Lunch. In the afternoon, departure by bus to Lima. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 04: Cusco, Capital of the Empire, and the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman

Transfer to the airport to take your flight to Cusco. Arrival, assistance, and transfer to the hotel.

Ascent to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park and start of the journey visiting the fortress of the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility, we will also admire the huge rocks of up to 4 meters high, that were used in its construction. Continue to Q’enqo, antique temple of the Cougar where we can appreciate an altar for sacrifices in the inner part of a huge rock and then to Tambomachay, sacred fountains of life and health. On the way, enjoy a panoramic view of Puca Pucará, a watchtower that guarded the entrance to the city. Later, tour of the Temple of the Sun Qorikancha, over which the Santo Domingo Convent was built, the legend says that this Temple was completely gold plated, which amazed the conquistadores when they first arrived. To end our journey, become familiar with the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and enter the Cathedral, which amasses invaluable colonial art works and paintings, as for example the Cross that arrived with the first conquistadores.

Day 05: Sacred Valley: Inca and Colonial Pisac, Inkariy Museum and Yucay Live Culture Center

The Sacred Valley of the Incas receives us in this day. Our first stop will be at the Inca village of Pisac, one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley. From the top of the mountain there is a great view of the colonial village of Pisac. Walk through the colonial village. Time for shopping at the artisan workshops. Later, tour of the Inkariy Museum to visit the different halls with exhibits of representations of the pre-Hispanic cultures of ancient Peru. Lunch. Visit to the Yucay Live Culture Center, tourist complex where the local settlers will show us their techniques of weaving and dying of traditional textiles, making of the adobes, preparation of the traditional chicha, a drink made of corn, and a close encounter with the Andean camels: llamas and alpacas. Overnight stay in the area.

Day 06: Sacred Valley: Moray Terraces, Maras Salt Mines and Ollantaytambo Living Inca Village

This day will take us to find marvelous places in this region of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Inca Terraces of Moray, a lab that was looking to re-create 20 different microclimates and secure the agricultural production of the empire. Continue towards the Village of Maras, tour of the famous and ancient salt mines, which still are exploited since immemorial times. The contrast between the white wells and the clayey land makes this landscape into a place not to be missed for taking pictures. Lunch. In the afternoon, tour of the streets, plazas and terraces of the last Inca living village of Ollantaytambo. Enter the archaeological site that dominates the village, where we will see the technique that the Incas used to work on the stones in the Sun temple that was left half built. At the proper time, embark from the village train station to arrive at the town of Machu Picchu, located at the foot of the mountain. Overnight stay in the area.

Day 07: Machu Picchu, the Lost City

The much-awaited day to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Boarding at the Ollantaytambo station. Departure in the selected train. Arrival at the Machu Picchu station. Assistance, from our staff to board the bus that will ascend a winding road, with a spectacular view of the Urubamba River which forms a deep canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will greet us with its incredible terraces, staircases, ceremonial sites, and urban areas. Energy exudes from the whole place. Lunch. At the coordinated time, return by train and transfer to the hotel in Cusco. Lodging.

 

Day 08: Cusco at your pace

Free day. Cusco has many cultural, archaeological, and adventure-related activities. Reserve the activities with anticipation.

Day 09: Route to the Andean Altiplano

Departure on a tourist bus to the city of Puno, a beautiful landscape route accompanied by the Vilcanota River and afterwards to the plateau of Collao, the Andean altiplano. Our first stop will be at the Church of the Apostle St. Peter in Andahuaylillas better known as “La Sixtina de América” (The Sistine Chapel of America). The walls and ceiling are full of mural paintings from the 17th century. Continue to Racchi, Temple of the God Wiracocha, where the remains of the columns and walls stand out and give us an idea of the monumental size of this construction during the Inca times. Our path will reach its highest point at La Raya at 4,800 m.a.s.l., a place where there is the division of the waters of the basin of the Titicaca and the rivers that will go to the Amazonas. Lunch. Visit to the Site Museum of Pucara. This location is the cradle of the famous toritos de Pucará (Pucara little bulls). Arrival in Puno and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: The Titicaca Sacred Lake and its islands

In the morning, board a motorboat to visit the Uros, a town of people that sought refuge inside Lake Titicaca, fleeing the different cultures that arrived to dominate them. This community continues building their islands following the ancient techniques and welcome us to pass on their knowledge. Its people make a living from its visitors. Continue sailing towards the Island of Taquile. The community of this island has maintained alive its traditions, clothes, and way of life. It is one of the few Quechua communities in a region that is essentially Aymara, and they have kept unreachable to modernity and its possible effect on their lives. They will welcome us with their music and dances. Lunch at a community restaurant, a simple meal but very rich in nutrients. Afterwards, take a walk around the surrounding areas to appreciate the beautiful view of the Lake Titicaca. Return to the port of Puno. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 11:  Farewell Day

Transfer to the airport. Departure to Lima to connect with your return flight home.

Day 03: Inca Village of Chinchero, Terraces of Moray and the Inca Village of Ollantaytambo

This day we shall visit the most outstanding places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will depart towards the Village of Chinchero, the most typical and colorful of the Sacred Valley. This village is famous for its weaving women. Short stop in a textiles center to appreciate the old Inca techniques for the dyeing and spinning using alpaca wool. After visiting the Inca Plaza with its beautiful colonial church, we will continue towards Moray, a beautiful Inca archaeological site made up of concentric agricultural terraces that served as a lab to recreate microclimates. Lunch. Later visit to the last living village of the Incas, Ollantaytambo. Also, a visit to the Temple of the ten windows, the bath of the princess, and the Sun Temple. The postcard pictures that we will take from the heights of Ollantaytambo will close this magical day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Lodging in the area.

Day 04: Machu Picchu, the Lost City

The much-awaited day to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Boarding at the Ollantaytambo station. Departure in the selected train. Arrival at the Machu Picchu station. Day 06: Crossing of Lake Titicaca to Bolivia

This day we sail the highest navigable lake in the world, the Titicaca. Very early departure traveling by land to the city of Copacabana. Visit to the Sanctuary of the Virgen Morena (Dark Virgin). Boarding a catamaran to do the sailing of the sacred lake. We will visit the legendary Isla del Sol (Sun Island). Will visit the Inca gardens and the stairs that will take us to the famous Inca´s fountain. Later, we enter the Inti Wata complex where we see some of the archaeological remains found on the island. Experience navigating on a totora reed vessel from where we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Pilkokaina palace. Will enjoy lunch aboard the catamaran with an impressive view of the lake. We continue until we reach the port of Chua. Arrival and transfer to La Paz.

Day 07: La Paz, City of Contrasts

In the morning, we start our tour of the city with a view of the authentic local culture in the typical witch doctor´s market. We pass in front of the colonial church of San Francisco. Continue towards the Plaza Murillo, there we find the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Parliament. Then, we walk around the famous Calle Jaén, which is home to the most important museums of La Paz. Our visit will continue through the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida ending in the spectacular Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), which is a nearby geological formation that has always attracted the visitor’s interest in this city.
