Welcome to Costa Rica! Our local representative will take you from Juan Santamaría International Airport to the hotel in San José.  1 night Lodging.

DAY 2 SAN JOSÉ -TORTUGUERO (B, L, D)

Check out. Early in the morning a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to take you to Tortuguero (bus – boat), located on the north coast of the Caribbean. Stop en route to have breakfast in the city of Guápiles and continue by bus and then take the boat that will take you to your lodging in Tortuguero. The trip by boat is a naturalistic experience where you can appreciate the flora and fauna of the tropical jungle. Once at the lodge, enjoy the lunch around noon. Then you can enjoy a walk through the town of Tortuguero, visiting the Turtle Museum (donation $ 1). Free afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3 TORTUGUERO (B, L, D)

Before breakfast, you can take a boat tour through the Tortuguero canals to admire the flora and fauna. Later, return to the hotel for breakfast. Rest of the day free to enjoy hotel facilities or some additional activity.

DAY 4 TORTUGUERO – ARENAL (B, L) 

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. At the agreed time, you will take the boat and land transfer back to Guapiles where you will have lunch.  2 nights lodging

Option A Shared transfers: A local representative will pick you up at the restaurant in Guapiles after lunch to continue to the La Fortuna area of San Carlos, home of the majestic Arenal Volcano.

Option B Car Rental: At the agreed time, a representative of the car rental company will meet you at the restaurant in Guapiles to deliver the contract and the rental car after lunch. Drive to La Fortuna of San Carlos; take in consideration that the road trip will take around 2 and a half hours and it is convenient to arrive at the destination before nightfall.

DAY 5 ARENAL (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.  

Optional Excursion: This day you will have the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge considered one of the most spectacular sites for bird watching; it is also an excellent place to observe several species of mammals and reptiles. The, return to La Fortuna around 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included. Rest of the afternoon free. Tour available with or without transfers included (passengers can get directly to the starting point of the tour on their own).

DAY 6 ARENAL – MONTEVERDE (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.  2 nights lodging

Option A Shared transfer: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to take you on a transfer from Arenal to Monteverde by bus and boat through Lake Arenal, arriving at the destination, around noon.

Option B Car Rental: Drive to the Monteverde cloud forest area; Consider that the road trip can take around 3 hours and it is convenient to arrive at the destination before nightfall.

DAY 7 MONTEVERDE (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the beach or some optional activity.

DAY 8 MONTEVERDE – SAN JOSE (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.  2 nights Lodging

Option A Shared transfer: At the agreed time, a local representative will pick you up at the hotel to transfer you to the city of San José arriving around noon.

Option B Car Rental: Drive to the city of San José; take in consideration that the road trip can take around 3 hours. At the agreed time, return the car with the rental company in the hotel lobby in San José.

DAY 9 SAN JOSE – TORTUGA ISLAND (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. This day you will have the opportunity to visit an island paradise. Early in the morning around 06:00 a.m. A local representative will take you to enjoy the Catamaran to Turtle Island in the Gulf of Nicoya, Central Pacific. A day full of sun and beach aboard a boat with music, fruits, and natural drinks on board. Once on the island you will have time to relax on the beach and enjoy a delicious lunch. Return to San José around 7:00 p.m.

DAY 10 SAN JOSE – AIRPORT (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. At a convenient time, our representative will transfer you to the Juan Santamaria International Airport to take your flight back home.

RECOMMENDATIONS 

• Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for traveling in Costa Rica. 
• Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or sparse clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. 
• Sun protection, sunglasses, hat or cap, swimsuit, comfortable walking shoes, sandals and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
